Sentinel: Descendants in Time Hints

How do I get to the center of the maze of rotating walls?

  • 1 of 19: Pushing the orange button rotates the wall.
  • 2 of 19: You may need to push the button several times before you will find an opening in the wall.
  • 3 of 19: For the first wall, there is only one possible setting, but for some of the inside walls, there may be more than one possible setting.
  • 4 of 19: You might walk inside an opening, and explore all possibilities, just to find that you are inside a dead-end.
  • 5 of 19: If this happens, you will need to retrace your steps to the most recent orange button used and press it again to look for a new door.  Note: step-by-step solution follows.
  • 6 of 19: From the beginning (outside the maze), press the orange button until you see an opening (there is only one opening on the first wall).  Enter and go left (clockwise) to find another button.
  • 7 of 19: There is only one possible opening in the next wall.  Press the orange button until the new opening in the wall is directly in front of the orange button.  You should see a new orange button, ahead of where you are standing.  Move inside to stand beside the new orange button.
  • 8 of 19: Here's where it starts to get tricky.  There are two openings in the next wall.
  • 9 of 19: Push this orange button until you see an opening directly ahead of you (two times, if you haven't moved the wall yet).  Exploring this opening does not yield access to any new orange buttons.
  • 10 of 19: You will need to press the most recently used orange button one more time -- until you see the second of the two openings.
  • 11 of 19: You will be able to move inward, and to the right (counter-clockwise).  But you won't find a passage leading closer to the center of the maze.
  • 12 of 19: However, if you look carefully, you should find another orange button.
  • 13 of 19: To find this button go through the opening (after moving to the right) -- away from the center of the maze.
  • 14 of 19: Once in the adjoining ring of the maze, move counter-clockwise to find the orange button.
  • 15 of 19: For the next movement of the wall, you will once again need to choose between two openings.
  • 16 of 19: The first opening (found after pushing the button once, if the wall had not been moved) won't get you anywhere.
  • 17 of 19: Press the button once more to reveal the second opening, and enter to explore again.
  • 18 of 19: Movement counter-clockwise will bring you to yet another orange button.
  • 19 of 19: Use this orange button until you find an opening that leads to the center of the maze (there is only one opening in this wall).
