Sentinel: Descendants in Time Hints
What do I do with the colored ropes puzzles?
of 13: It is possible to click on each of the ropes to raise them or lower them. There are seven possible positions for each rope.
of 13: The height of each rope can be measured by counting the lines marked into the post under the puzzle.
of 13: Think of this as a strange type of "combination lock."
of 13: Once the correct setting is entered, the lowered portion of walkway will raise into position. The trick is in knowing the correct "combination" for each walkway.
of 13: Clues to the combinations can be found around Eska.
of 13: Did you find any objects around here that also have different colors?
of 13: There are three such objects -- boxes with colored circles across the face, and ropes hanging down (one for each color).
of 13: Obviously, the boxes with the colors on the fronts are the key to solving the rope puzzles. You'll have to translate information from the boxes with colors on the front to the boxes with colored ropes.
of 13: Each time you click on a rope under the boxes with the circles of color, the circle directly over that rope changes color.
of 13: The circles of color can display the same colors that are found on the ropes (on the boxes near the transporter).
of 13: The trick is in keeping track of how many times you will need to click on each rope to change the colored circle into the same color as the ropes (on the corresponding box near the transporter).
of 13: Before you start, make sure all the ropes are all the way to the bottom. Then click slowly through the colors, counting until you know how many moves it takes to change the color of the circle to match the color of the corresponding rope.
of 13: Once you have a set of numbers, the only thing left is to return to the box with the matching number of colored ropes and enter the combination.
