Sentinel: Descendants in Time Hints
Left-most Flower
of 8: To figure out the left-most flower, you will need to turn the tower to the left (counter-clockwise). From the starting position, it isn't possible to turn the tower to the left with the L5 (move to the left five spaces) button, so that tells us the flower is less than five moves to the left.
of 8: Press the L3 button to move the tower to the left. If you were to go down to the base of the tower, and look up at the left-most flower, you would find that the tower still needs to be moved more to the left (counter-clockwise).
of 8: So now you know that the left-most flower is less than five moves and more than three moves to the left of the starting position. The only possible remaining position is that the left-most flower is four moves to the left of the starting position.
of 8: To confirm the position of the tower, you can turn the tower again -- this time to the right two spaces (R2), then to the left three spaces (L3). In that position, the light will be lined up with the left-most flower. (L3, R2, L3 = L4)
of 8: The left-most flower seems to be a fair amount higher than the starting position of the tower light. However, if the tower is moved up five spaces (U5), the beam of light would pass over the top of the flower.
of 8: Yet, if the tower is moved up three spaces (U3) from the starting height (if you already moved the light U5, then move it again D2 to reach U3), then the beam of light passes under the flower. So the beam of light must be moved up exactly four spaces.
of 8: To test the correct height of the flower, move the tower from the starting height U3, D2, and U3. If you already have the tower in the U3 position, then move the tower D2 and U3 to reach the correct height. (U3, U3, D2 = U4)
of 8: This tells us that the left-most flower is left four spaces (L4) and up four spaces (U4) from the starting position of the tower.
