Sentinel: Descendants in Time Hints
Which buttons do I press to turn each segment?
1 of 5: We'll use a "shorthand" method of denoting the buttons on the control pyramid at the top of the tower (in the center building). Remember, each pathway segment is controlled by one of the buttons on this pyramid. And the "link" between the pathway segment and which button to press is the symbol on the "flag" at the pivot point of each pathway segment -- which matches one of the symbols above one of the buttons on the control pyramid. But instead of saying "the button with the picture of the hexagon with a quarter circle extending to the upper right", we'll make use of the fact that each side of the pyramid is numbered, on the arrows that turn the pyramid.
2 of 5: Each of the arrows has a number of lines on it -- from 1 to 4. That will be the "side number" in our shorthand reference. And the buttons will simply be numbered from 1 to 10 (or, in the case of one of the sides, 1-11), starting at the left-most button in the top row, and reading across, and then moving to the next row (as in normal reading). Thus, the same button just described above -- which can be found on Side #4, button #9 -- will be referred to simply as "4:9".
3 of 5: Note that this solution will NOT indicate HOW MANY TIMES to press each button. That will entirely depend on how you may have already rotated the various pieces. Your goal is to press the button enough times, so that it ends up oriented as described in the previous clue.
4 of 5: Remember that you must turn the pathway segments in order, beginning from the land. Otherwise, they will not turn. There must always be a connection maintained to the first segment.
5 of 5: The "shorthand", then, for the buttons to press (and the order in which to press them -- although you will need to press each button enough times to get each piece in the proper orientation) to solve the first pathway area, is: 2:4 1:1 3:10 1:7 4:9 4:11
