What's this red thing in the well?
1 of 3: It's a save spot. If you're playing on a game console like X-Box or PS2, these are the only places you can save. It's usually a good idea to do so.
2 of 3: If you're playing on a PC, save whenever the heck you like (except during boss fights).
3 of 3: All the same, it's not a bad idea to pay attention to the save spots. Sometimes they indicate that something especially dangerous is coming up.
