Can I combine endings?

• Maria, Leave, and In-Water can't be combined with each other. They depend on your actions throughout the entire game. If you've played suicidal the whole way through, you can't just ignore the conversation in the hallway and suddenly be happy enough for Leave.
  
  You can combine Rebirth with one of the other regular endings by playing the game through aiming for Maria, Leave, or In-Water, saving just before you pick up the last ritual item (in the reading room in Reverse Lakeview), and playing the game to the end. Now reload, pick up the item, and play to the end again. It's a little time-consuming, but at least you don't have to play from the start.
  
  Rebirth and Dog can't be combined because picking up the dog key derails Rebirth.
  
  You can combine Dog, UFO, and one of the other three with relative ease:
  
  -- Play enough times to get the Rebirth ending.
  -- On your next replay, pick up the blue gem in the restroom.
  -- After you leave the park with Maria, go across the street and get the dog key.
  -- Play the rest of the game aiming for either Leave, In-Water, or Maria. Don't pick up the Rebirth items.
  -- Use the gem in the right places.
  -- In Room 312 of the hotel, just before you play the videotape, save, then stand by the window and use the gem again to get the UFO ending.
  -- Reload and play the tape, save, then go to the Observation Room with the dog key and get the Dog ending.
  -- Then reload and play to the end to get whatever actual ending you're aiming for.
