Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective, Volume III Hints
Who was the murderer?
of 10: Whoever the murderer was, he seemed interested in those Venus de Milo statues that everyone was buying.
of 10: He broke several of them open to see what was inside them.
of 10: The De Vries diamonds were never found.
of 10: And the murderer must have been someone who knew to look for them.
of 10: He must be one of the original thieves or someone who talked to him.
of 10: You can rule out Nat Cook -- he's still in jail.
of 10: Jonathan Small is dead.
of 10: Leroy Eakin worked for Aggie Small (the Irregulars told you this). If he wanted the diamonds, he would have taken them a long time ago.
of 10: The only person left is someone who was a confidant of one of the thieves.
