Sherlock Holmes versus Arsene Lupin Hints

Game Interface

  • Sherlock Holmes versus Arsene Lupin is a first-person point and click adventure game. If you played the previous (and also excellent) game in the series, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, you will be familiar with the control scheme.

Use the WASD setup, or the arrow keys, to move your character around the game world. The target cursor in the centre of the screen is your focal point, so if you want to interact with something, move it to the centre of your field of vision. If you can interact with it, the cursor will change to an eye (to look at or examine an item), or a hand (to pick up or use an item).

Talking to characters is performed by clicking on them. Conversation options appear in the upper-right of the screen if any are available -- if not, a one-liner or generic line of conversation will take its place.

Lines of dialogue can be skipped by left-clicking with the mouse. Don't skip over too much information, though, as all the text in this game is pretty crucial -- lots of textual clues and hints are given.

The in-game menu system offers an Item screen, to view your inventory, a Dialogues screen where you can view conversations you have had with other characters, and a Documents page where you can view clues, papers and other written documents. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to the Documents page at all times, as it is your key to solving the Holmes Quizzes scattered throughout the game. In order to solve those quizzes, you must physically type in an answer -- you are not given multiple choices so rather than guessing, use your brain and work out the answers... or check my hints :)
