  • 3 of 10: You will see two identical paintings by Vernet next to each other in the French gallery.
  • 4 of 10: Examine them both, and spot a difference between the two.
  • 5 of 10: You will note, upon close inspection, a difference in the upper balcony.
  • 6 of 10: Lupin himself is visible in the left painting, burning a painting.
  • 7 of 10: As Holmes says, he is setting an example.
  • 8 of 10: So, follow that example.
  • 9 of 10: Burn this painting, using the lamp. (Uou may need to go back to the dark store room to pick it up again if you left it there before.)
