The Testament of Sherlock Holmes Hints

How can I solve the electric box puzzle?

  • 1 of 12: Start by rotating connections so that the top two outlets are connected together.
  • 2 of 12: Let's begin with the top left outlet. The connector directly below it is already rotated in a useful way, so look down to the next connector.
  • 3 of 12: It needs to be rotated so that it connects with the above connector.
  • 4 of 12: There are two rotations that'll do that, but the one where the other end of the connector goes toward the edge of the box is no good.
  • 5 of 12: Rotate it so that it's in an "L" position, meaning it's directing current from the connector above it to the connector to the right of it.
  • 6 of 12: The connector to the right will have to be rotated to bridge the gap to the next connector to the right, which is another L-shaped one.
  • 7 of 12: If you rotate it to direct the current upwards, you'll soon see that that won't work. So turn it to direct downwards.
  • 8 of 12: The connector below it is already in a good position, so look to the right of it for an L-shaped connector.
  • 9 of 12: Rotate it to direct current upwards, then rotate the two connectors above it to direct current over to the connector that's below the second outlet.
  • 10 of 12: Rotate it so that the first and second outlets are connected, then pull the lever to visually verify that.
  • 11 of 12: Now that you're used to how this puzzle works, you should be able to figure out how to rotate connectors to get the current connected up to the lower outlet. (Note that you'll have to change the rotation of the three-way connector.)
  • 12 of 12: See below for a sketch of the electric box that shows how all of the connectors that are used need to be rotated.
