The Testament of Sherlock Holmes Hints
How can I figure out what disguise Holmes used?
of 12: After getting the four hidden letters in his room, examine the fallen-over mannequin to verify that he changed into a disguise after the events at the judge's house.
of 12: You can then go around and pick up all the loose articles of clothing that are scattered about the apartment.
of 12: In Holmes' bedroom, there are two pairs of shoes, two hats, some trousers, and a jacket.
of 12: In the main room, there are two pairs of trousers, two jackets, some shoes, and a hat.
of 12: Once you have all of those items, open the wardrobe that's to the right of the exit door.
of 12: That'll get all of your collected clothing items put in it, after which you'll need to use them to figure out which disguise is missing.
of 12: To do that, you'll need to assemble the various pieces (hat, shoes, jacket, and trousers) for each disguise that's there. You can then deduce which one is missing.
of 12: Remember that the four letters were addressed to a clergyman, a worker, a court clerk, and a naval captain. Look over the available clothing items to see what would likely be worn by people of those professions.
of 12: Identify the hats first, then pick up and move around the other articles of clothing when you figure out which hat they go with.
of 12: When you get all three of the unused disguises properly assembled, Watson will say "it seems that something in this disguise is missing."
of 12: That's his way of saying that you now need to match up the envelopes that are near the bottom right corner of the screen with the assembled disguises.
