The Testament of Sherlock Holmes Hints
How do I get the chemical analysis done?
of 13: The chemical you need to analyze is the one that's in the broken flask, so select it from inventory and click on the table's right hand icon to bring up the chemical analysis screen.
of 13: Click on the flask piece on the tray to empty its contents into the tray, then start mixing in colored reagents to see what reactions you get.
of 13: To do that, click on the rotating chemical rack until the reagent you want to do next is in front, then click on the little stopcock at the bottom of the reagent's tube to let some of it flow into the tray.
of 13: Right after you do that, some colored symbols will appear on the chemical in the tray, but they'll fade fast. You'll need to count how many there are of each symbol before they're gone.
of 13: If you're not fast enough, you can use the stopcock one more time let in the rest of the reagent. If even that's not enough, you'll need to hit the "Reset" button and start over.
of 13: Check the chart that's over to the left to see all four possible symbols across the top. Along the left side of the chart are the five different reagents.
of 13: You can click repeatedly on the four numbers to the right of any reagent's row on the chart to set that reagent's count for each of the four symbols.
of 13: For example, the orange reagent causes one of the brown symbols to appear, plus two of the green symbols and one of the blue symbols.
of 13: So you'll need to set the numbers in the orange reagent's row to 1, 2, 0, and 1 in left-to-right order.
of 13: When you get all four numbers for a reagent set correctly, they'll turn green, and you won't be able to change them anymore.
of 13: Keep working with the reagents and recording their symbol counts until you're done, or see below for the exact answer.
