The Testament of Sherlock Holmes Hints
General Tips
1 of 7: These hints are organized around the investigations that Holmes and Watson conduct during the course of the game. One of the major hint divisions contains subdivisions that each have a list of questions, while the rest only have a question list without any subdivisions.
2 of 7: The hints won't mention every single item that you can find or examine, since many of them are optional. Usually, only items that are essential to progressing on your investigation will be mentioned. If you find something important-looking that the hints don't ever refer to, it won't really be useful, and you don't need to worry about it.
3 of 7: Since this is a Sherlock Holmes game, there's a major emphasis on finding and analyzing clues. Some clues are very hard to spot at a casual glance, so it's always important to carefully look around all available areas for hotspots.
4 of 7: Remember that the action icon for a hotspot usually won't appear unless you're close to it and looking more or less straight at it. (Though you can use Holmes' "sixth sense" to briefly mark all nearby hotspots, which can be very helpful, especially in third person point-and-click mode.)
6 of 7: Evidence gathering is the most important thing you'll be doing, but you also occasionally need to talk to someone to learn something important, and there are a few adventure-game-type puzzles scattered throughout, just to keep you on your toes.
7 of 7: You can usually use the ESC key to skip non-interactive cut-scenes, and left-click to skip past dialogues and sections of other cut-scenes.
