Silent Hill 3 Hints
Hard
On hard, the boss will do a significant amount of damage with each attack, so be very careful to watch her movements and dodge the attacks. Stay outside the arc as long as you have ammo, dodging her fires, which travel quickly, at most halfway around the arc on the side it was lit on. The fire will leave the arc to come after you wherever you're standing, but it'll only travel in a straight line, so when you see it coming, run or sidestep to avoid it. You cannot block fire. She'll sometimes light two fires at once -- try to attract and dodge one at a time instead of both at once. When the fires start to travel more quickly, the same strategy applies, you'll just have to move faster. Keep firing at the boss when her head's down. If you run out of ammo, equip your most effective melee weapon (probably the katana) and run in to attack when her head's down. You'll probably take some hits, so keep as many healing items as possible ready. It'll take quite a bit of firepower to bring her down -- don't give up until she falls.
