Silent Hill 3 Hints
Pendulum
1 of 2: It's a garbage truck! It's a flying food processor! No, it's a giant floating chunk of death, and it's coming your way! If, while playing Silent Hill 3, you ever hear a sound like someone put a Hummer in a blender, then take cover because a Pendulum is nearby. These brown beasts either crawl on all fours or fly through the air, lashing out at you with their bladed arms. They can do a significant amount of damage and don't die too easily themselves. To make matters worse, they rarely confront you alone -- they're usually accompanied by more Pendulums, Numb Bodies, Double Heads, Closers...you get the idea. It's usually a good idea to just run, but if you want to fight...
2 of 2: ...you first have to get them out of the sky if they're flying. The best way to do this is to whip out the shotgun, wait until it's close (but not in range to attack you), then pull the trigger to knock it out of the sky. As it lies on the ground recuperating, pull out your melee weapon of choice and whack it until it whines no more. It's best to not use the handgun (it's not powerful enough) or the submachine gun (ammo is too valuable), and it's incredibly hard to knock a Pendulum out of the air with a melee weapon, so it's either shotgun or nothing at all. If it's on the ground, feel free to use whatever you want, but remember -- where there's a Pendulum, there's usually another monster lurking nearby.
