How do I drain the water in the hole with the ladder?
1 of 9: There's a lot of machinery there, which implies it may be of some use.
2 of 9: Unfortunately, when you examine it, it's out of fuel. Have you seen any sort of a source of fuel anywhere?
3 of 9: Check around. There's got to be something somewhere!
4 of 9: In the next door over from the room with the hole, there's a kerosene heater. Perhaps that could work...
5 of 9: Unfortunately, you need something to hold the kerosene in. Keep looking until the map says you've checked everywhere!
6 of 9: If you didn't explore the passage thoroughly earlier, backtrack a bit to anywhere you didn't explore.
7 of 9: During your search, you should run across a pile of rubble. See anything interesting?
8 of 9: Examine the wine rack to find an empty wine bottle. That should work nicely.
9 of 9: Return to where the kerosene heater is and fill the wine bottle with kerosene. Then, go to the room with the machinery and fill the fuel tank. Hit the switch, and climb on down.
