The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Hints
Locked Crystal Doors Note
1 of 6: You may run into crystal-locked doors that I don't mention as being locked.
2 of 6: The reason is probably that when I played, a gnarl unlocked the door before I got to it, so I didn't know to warn about it being locked in the hints.
3 of 6: If you do encounter a crystal-locked door and can find no other passage that allows you to bypass it, you have two options.
4 of 6: You can unlock the door with a Shard of Order if you have one of those. They can only be obtained by killing and looting Priests of Order. (There are four on the Fountainhead level at the small pools if you haven't gotten them already.)
5 of 6: Your other option is to wait for a gnarl to unlock the door for you.
6 of 6: If there are no gnarls near the door, look around for a gnarl chrysalis that you can use to spawn a new gnarl. The more tame gnarls there are around, the more likely things are to get unlocked by them.
