The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Hints

Combat Tips

  • 1 of 10: He has some really powerful spells to throw at you, so it would help hugely if you had a 100% resistance to magic, or something close to that.
  • 2 of 10: If you're primarily a melee fighter, a high Reflect Damage effect would be great to have, too.
  • 3 of 10: If you've got both effects at 100% or more, you can just stand there and let Jyggy kill himself by attacking you!
  • 4 of 10: Another good way to handle him with ease is to have a 100% Chameleon on you. He'll always be able to run right up to you, but he won't be able to attack. You, on the other hand, can deliver one powerful sneak attack after another.
  • 5 of 10: If you can't manage either of those "ultimate solutions," you're going to have a much harder time.
  • 6 of 10: To avoid being quickly overwhelmed, keep running around the grounds, going up steps and so forth. There's nowhere he can't follow you to, but you can avoid his sword and most of his spells if you keep moving. (This is good to do when you're badly in need of healing.)
  • 7 of 10: Remember that you can pop Hearts of Order in order to get healing plus a couple of good temporary bonuses. Hopefully, you've saved up a bunch of hearts by now.
  • 8 of 10: The Staff of Sheogorath won't freeze Jyggy, but it will temporarily cancel his health regeneration. So always use the staff on him right before hitting him with your best heavy attacks.
  • 9 of 10: Also, try summoning a creature to see if Jyggy will get interested in attacking it. If so, you may be able to hit him in the back with a few sneak attacks.
  • 10 of 10: And do try using Mehrunes Razor if you have that weapon from the downloadable content (DLC) module of the same name, since it can kill Jyggy in just one hit if you get lucky. (You can save your game right when he first appears, and then keep hitting him with the razor until one of you is dead. If it's you, restore your save and try again. If you have a Fortify Luck spell, use it to help your odds.)
