The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Hints

Rooftop Treasure

  • 1 of 16: If you're acrobatic enough, there's various stuff that you can get from the rooftops in New Sheoth's Crucible district, including the key to a special treasure urn.
  • 2 of 16: Go to (but not through) the door that leads from Crucible to the Palace Grounds, then go down one flight of stairs.
  • 3 of 16: Jump from the corner of the platform you're on to the roof of Caldana Monrius' house, which is a bit to the SW.
  • 4 of 16: From there, jump west to the Museum of Oddities' roof.
  • 5 of 16: Looking around on it, you'll find some scruffy shoes and a Remote Manipulation scroll.
  • 6 of 16: Jump onto the nearby roof of Cutter's Weapons, then look around to find a stool with a key and faded note on it, plus a bottle of wine next to it.
  • 7 of 16: Take all of that, then jump back onto the museum roof.
  • 8 of 16: Go south along the roofs until you get to the one over Ma'zaddha's house.
  • 9 of 16: It has a stone slab on it with a Ring of Light hidden among some bones and fur gauntlets.
  • 10 of 16: Drop down roofs to the SE until you get to the one on Brithaur's house, where you'll find a Potion of Feather among a bunch of quills and bones.
  • 11 of 16: Go NE to get to a midlevel roof area on Sickly Bernice's Taphouse, where you'll find some mead and food in a corner.
  • 12 of 16: Go around to the back of the taphouse and use the ramps that lead up to a rooftop patio area with a locked chest and lectern-style box.
  • 13 of 16: Jump up onto the highest roof section to find a stone slab with two portions of scales mixed in with a bunch of bones.
  • 14 of 16: That's it for the rooftop treasure, so drop down into the stream of sewage that's behind (east of) the taphouse.
  • 15 of 16: Look inside the broken crate at the SE end of that sewage stream to find the sunken urn that's mentioned in the faded note you got from the roof of Cutter's Weapons.
  • 16 of 16: The key that was next to the note will open the urn, which will contain various items, including some leveled ones. (Unfortunately, the contents were set the first time you entered the Crucible district, so hopefully you were fairly high-level then.)
