Simon the Sorcerer 3D Hints

How do I get past the Golem in the Chamber of Wisdom?

  • 1 of 17: It is safe to enter the room and wander around.
  • 2 of 17: Look around the room carefully.
  • 3 of 17: Notice the red ray across the ceiling?
  • 4 of 17: Did you also notice the matching red gem on the Golem's head?
  • 5 of 17: The red ray is being generated from the head on the wall -- the one with the red gem in its mouth.
  • 6 of 17: There are three more heads located around the room.
  • 7 of 17: The other three heads have an empty space in their mouths.
  • 8 of 17: Perhaps the other three heads could also produce a colored ray -- if there were something you could put in their mouths.
  • 9 of 17: Some more colored gems would work.
  • 10 of 17: Place one gem in each mouth of the three heads around the room.  You'll need to walk in front of each mouth; select the gem to use (cycle through inventory items with the C) key; then place it in the mouth (press the "use inventory item" key, ALT).  NOTE: if your keyboard has more than one ALT key, use the left one -- the right ALT key may not work.
  • 11 of 17: There should now be four rays of light.  Can you figure out how the rays might be used to stop the Golem?
  • 12 of 17: Remember the colored gems on the Golem's head?
  • 13 of 17: What would happen if the colored light passed through the colored gems on the Golem's head?
  • 14 of 17: Of course, not much would happen, if the rays of light did not pass through the matching color on the Golem's head.
  • 15 of 17: Note the order of colored gems on the Golem's head and make certain that the gems placed in the heads around the room are in the same order.
  • 16 of 17: Next, move around the room to coax the Golem to turn and follow you -- until the gems on his head pass through the matching rays of light.
  • 17 of 17: The correct place to stand is near the entrance where Simon entered the room.
