Singularity Hints
What are special weapons, and how do they work?
1 of 4: There are two special weapons in the game: the Seeker sniper rifle and the RLS-7 rocket launcher.
2 of 4: You'll only find these weapons in a few parts of the game, and they're never added to the weapon locker. This means you can only use them in the areas where you find them, and only until you run out of ammo for them.
3 of 4: Picking up a special weapon doesn't make you drop either of your two equipped weapons. However, if you pick up a special weapon and then switch to one of your two equipped weapons, the special weapon will be automatically dropped. If that happens, you can pick it up again and keep using it. That way, you can switch back and forth between using an equipped weapon and a special weapon. (Though you'll usually want to use the special weapon exclusively until it runs out of ammo, then drop it and go back to using your equipped weapons.)
4 of 4: Note that using the TMD doesn't make you drop your special weapon, so you can switch back and forth between a special weapon and the TMD without dropping anything. (Hit the Aim key to switch from the TMD to the special weapon, and hit the Age key when you're not aiming at something ageable to switch back to the TMD.)
