Phase Tick Combat Tips
1 of 7: If you quickly use the TMD to age one of the phase ticks while it's on the other side of the room, it'll turn on the other ticks near it and attack them.
2 of 7: You can then wait where you are for other phase ticks to approach for a good impulse blast. However, aging a tick takes a lot of TMD energy, so you might want to save it all for impulse blasts. If you bought two levels of the Energetic hero perk at the augmentor earlier, you'll be able to do several impulse blasts without having to use an E99 energy cell.
3 of 7: The best way to start is to fire the assault rifle at the ticks that come through the door to kill a bunch of them while they're still off in the distance, then start impulse-blasting them as they approach you.
4 of 7: Remember that the only way a phase tick can hurt you is to get close and commit suicide by exploding its poison sac. You can absorb a few tick attacks and use a health pack to heal up. Due to this, you don't have to waste an impulse blast when only one or two ticks are approaching you.
5 of 7: Watch your TMD energy line closely. If you try to do an impulse blast without sufficient power, you won't get one. Furthermore, you'll have to wait until an E99 energy cell is installed before you can try again. When you see you don't have enough energy left for an impulse blast, dodge around while the cell is installing.
6 of 7: You could use your deadlock power to create a chrono-bubble to stand in right before the first wave of ticks gets close. If you stay in the bubble, any tick that comes after you will be frozen by it, allowing you to shoot it easily. Just remember that the bubble won't last as long as the tick attack will.
7 of 7: Putting it all together will give you this very effective strategy: Start by shooting the ticks that come through the door you open, then throw a deadlock bubble on the floor in front of you. Stay inside the bubble and impulse-blast ticks as they get stuck on the bubble's perimeter. When your TMD energy line gets close to empty, quickly fire off impulse blasts until a new E99 energy cell is inserted. You'll want to throw another deadlock bubble as soon as the first one disappears, then continue the impulse-blasting.
