Singularity Hints

Misc. Tips

  • 1 of 7: One of the most commonly used strategies for this kind of game is to quickly and recklessly run through a new, unexplored area right after getting a checkpoint save, then reload the save and approach the same area with your new knowledge of its layout and where all the enemies are hiding. This allows you to minimize injuries and ammo consumption while clearing out the area (or just running through it if that turns out to work).
  • 2 of 7: Jumping can be used to get across some fairly wide gaps as long as you get a running start, since that allows your jump to go a little farther. If you're wanting to jump up onto a crate or something like that, you don't need a running start -- instead, press the Jump key while moving up against the item.
  • 3 of 7: You should always be on the lookout for small, low-down spaces and passageways that you can enter if you crouch while walking into them. Many areas require you to crouch-walk through a ventilation shaft or something similar to get to the next area.
  • 4 of 7: Always look around for interactive items, especially in a room that appears to be a dead end. There are often doors you can open, control panels and wall switches you can use, etc. When you're facing an interactive item and are standing close enough to it, some text will appear on-screen prompting you to press the Use key to use the item.
  • 5 of 7: You should also always look around for E99 tech, ammo, health items, and other supplies in every area you pass through. The hints usually won't mention every single supply item in an area, so it'll be up to you to hunt them all down. Don't just look for loose items, but also keep an eye out for containers like luggage, dumpsters, lockers, and crates that you can open to find items.
  • 6 of 7: Don't ever put off looking for supplies for any reason other than combat. When an area is clear of hostiles, look carefully around for stuff before moving on. Even entering the next room can make it impossible to go back to the previous area. This game is chock full of doors that close and lock behind you as soon as you go through them.
  • 7 of 7: There are other things you might want to keep an eye out for (such as notes and audio recordings) that don't benefit you in any gameplay way, but that can be of interest if you care about the storyline.
