Defend Kathryn
1 of 4: Don't bother picking up the nearby sniper rifle, but instead sprint all the way over to the other end of the walkway, where there's a closed door.
2 of 4: Crouch down near the left end of the protective metal plate that's nearest the door, then face the door and get out your shotgun (or autocannon) and wait for the door to open. If you get shot while waiting, you'll need to adjust your position slightly.
3 of 4: When a soldier comes through the door, quickly kill him, then sprint through the door and fall through the big floor hole to get a checkpoint save and finish this objective.
