Singularity Hints

Zek Combat Tips

  • 1 of 7: Remember that the zeks can't be hurt when they're in out-of-phase outline form, so dodge away from any of them that are close, and shoot at ones that look solid.
  • 2 of 7: The key to this combat is to stay mobile. Keep running around the area in large irregular circles, periodically turning and firing on your closest pursuers (unless they're in outline form). Use the sprint key often to keep ahead of the zeks.
  • 3 of 7: You'll have to keep a close eye on your health and use health packs whenever it gets low. Hopefully, you started the combat with five health packs, and can remember where the one on the ground is in case you need to run get it.
  • 4 of 7: If you'd rather not go through all of that, there is another way. As soon as this objective begins, turn around and jump onto the truck bed that's on your left. Crouch down and scrunch into the corner where the two crates have a small gap between them.
  • 5 of 7: One zek will run into view and conjure an explosive barrel to throw at you. He may stand so that the barrel will hit a nearby wall and blow him up when he throws it, or it may just narrowly miss the wall and come right at you. It's safest to shoot the barrel before it's thrown to make sure it blows up the zek instead of you.
  • 6 of 7: The other zeks should run around uselessly over to the left, where you can only see the tops of their heads over a crate. You can peek around that crate and shoot them down with the assault rifle, or you can stand up with the shotgun out and wait for them to try to throw barrels at you. (If they won't, try jumping up and down.) Quickly blast a barrel before it's thrown to kill the zek that conjured it.
  • 7 of 7: Crouch back down in the corner when more zeks enter the area, then wait to see what they do. Hopefully, they'll repeat the useless run-around routine, allowing you to easily finish them off.
