Sinking Island Hints
Some notes on Sinking Island's timing system...
Sinking Island is a traditional point and click adventure game with some not-so-traditional elements. Time progresses in the game in minutes in almost real-time, and specific events will occur at specific in-game times. This can be somewhat annoying, as at 1pm daily Jack will automatically decide to take to the dining room for lunch. He will also receive phone calls from his wife at certain points throughout the day, which he will choose to take in his suite -- meaning you will automatically be transported there. If such things happen, take advantage of your new location to follow up on any leads regarding nearby characters. For example, if you are taken to the dining room, question any suspects who have also taken that time to eat their meals in the same location.
