World Map Exploration Guide

  • As in the main Skyrim hint file, this exploration guide for Solstheim will list every location alphabetically and give directions on getting to it from another location. You automatically discover Raven Rock when you first arrive, so start exploring outwards from there.

    * Abandoned Lodge: Go NW from Brodir Grove.
    * Altar of Thrond (hagraven nest): Go east down the paved path from Frostmoon Crag until you can turn NE.
    * Ashfallow Citadel (Morag Tong hideout): Go over the rugged terrain that's east of the Ramshackle Trading Post.
    * Beast Stone (cultist camp): Go straight east from halfway up the steps that lead to the Temple of Miraak.
    * Benkongerike (riekling lair): Go NE from Hrothmund's Barrow until you can go through a stone archway, then go straight east.
    * Bloodskal Barrow (reaver lair): Go NW from the Earth Stone to the shore, then follow it north.
    * Bristleback Cave (riekling lair): From the Water Stone, go south down the path to reach the shore, then head north along the shore.
    * Brodir Grove (reaver camp): Go up the steep path that starts near Raven Rock's mine entrance until you get past the walls, then go NE toward the shield-like symbol that's on the compass.
    * Broken Tusk Mine (riekling lair): Go up the steep snowy slope that's SE of the camp at Bristleback Cave until you can turn north, then go that way until you can make a right U-turn to get here.
    * Bujold's Retreat (nord camp): Go straight east from the Thirsk Mead Hall and drop carefully down some rocks.
    * Castle Karstaag Caverns (riekling lair): Go east through the Castle Karstaag Ruins until you reach a stream, then turn left and follow the path.
    * Castle Karstaag Ruins (riekling lair): Go north from Broken Tusk Mine until you can turn NE. Move along until you reach some high rocks, then turn SE.
    * Damphall Mine (reaver lair): Go north along the shore from Bloodskal Barrow until you find a rowboat, then turn east and get up on the large ash mound. Follow the upsloping rocky path past it until it ends, then turn east and drop down to a lower, wider path that you can follow NW.
    * Earth Stone (cultist camp): Swim a short way west from Raven Rock's dock area, then go up the hill toward the large green-glowing stone.
    * Fahlbtharz (dwarven ruin): Go up the snowy slope that's SE of White Ridge Barrow (and to the right of the tall rocks) until you can turn SW and make your way over some rocks.
    * Fort Frostmoth (ash spawn lair): Go NE from Hrodulf's House.
    * Frossel (riekling lair): Go east from Haknir's Shoal and across some water.
    * Frostmoon Crag (werewolf camp): Go east from the Abandoned Lodge until you reach a paved path, then turn north.
    * Glacial Cave (riekling lair): Follow the shore east from Northshore Landing.
    * Gyldenhul Barrow: Go down the paved path that leads north from the Skaal Village until it splits, then go east and across the water.
    * Haknir's Shoal (pirate camp): Go down the slope that's NE of the Wind Stone, then cross some water.
    * Headwaters of Harstrad (spriggan grove): Go up the paved path that leads south from the Wind Stone until you reach a pile of rocks with a banner, then turn west to reach a waterfall. Go along the stream until you get here.
    * Highpoint Tower (ash spawn lair): Go SE from Brodir Grove.
    * Horker Island: Swim around to the east side of the small island that Gyldenhul Barrow is on.
    * Hrodulf's House (ash spawn lair): Go directly NE from the Wreck of the Strident Squall.
    * Hrothmund's Barrow: Go north from the Moesring Pass and carefully drop down a bunch of rocks.
    * Kagrumez (dwarven ruin): Go NW across the rocks from the Ramshackle Trading Post, then turn NE when you can.
    * Kolbjorn Barrow (draugr crypt): Go NW from Hrodulf's House.
    * Moesring Pass (riekling camp): Go NW up the steep path that starts near the Altar of Thrond.
    * Nchardak (dwarven ruin): From the Sun Stone, go NE and across some rocks.
    * Northshore Landing: From Bristleback Cave, follow the shore north and then east.
    * Old Attius Farm (ash spawn lair): Go through Raven Rock's SE gate and head south down the path.
    * Ramshackle Trading Post: Go directly east from Brodir Grove.
    * Saering's Watch (dragon lair): Go west up the slope from Benkongerike until you reach some stone steps, then turn right. Go through a couple of large stone archways, then follow the paved path.
    * Skaal Village: Go north from the Thirsk Mead Hall and cross the water, then go NE and carefully drop down the cliffside.
    * Snowclad Ruins (werebear hideout): Go west up the slope from Benkongerike, then turn south to find the start of a series of stone steps and archways that lead here.
    * Stalhrim Source: This area can be visited before doing the "A New Source of Stalhrim" side quest, but it won't be marked for fast-travel until then.
    * Sun Stone (cultist camp): Go SE from the Ashfallow Citadel.
    * Tel Mithryn (Telvanni tower): Go south from the Sun Stone.
    * Temple of Miraak (cultist camp): Get on the paved path that's a bit south of the Altar of Thrond, then go east to reach a series of steps.
    * Thirsk Mead Hall (riekling lair): Carefully drop down the rocks that are east of the Beast Stone.
    * Vahlok's Tomb (draugr crypt): This location won't be discoverable until you get the "Lost Legacy" side quest.
    * Water Stone (cultist camp): Go north from Damphall Mine until you reach some rocks, then jump your way over them until you can drop carefully down to a path that leads here.
    * White Ridge Barrow (spider den): Go straight west from Hrothmund's Barrow.
    * Wind Stone (cultist camp): Follow the paved path that goes west from the Skaal Village until you come to a bridge, then cross it and go down the path a bit farther before turning north.
    * Wreck of the Strident Squall (reaver lair): Go south from the Old Attius Farm.
