The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Use the Deathbrand Treasure Map to find the treasure.

  • 1 of 10: Point at the Deathbrand Treasure Map in the "Misc" section of your inventory to get a picture of it, then see where all it has large black X's. (Note that you can visit them in any order.)
  • 2 of 10: The NE "X" marks Haknir's Shoal, so look around it for a Deathbrand artifact.
  • 3 of 10: The Deathbrand Helm is in the ancient chest that's between the three large rocks. You'll have to pick the chest open to get it.
  • 4 of 10: The SE "X" marks a spot that's a little ways directly west of Tel Mithryn.
  • 5 of 10: Go down to the shore, then look for three ash spawn to kill. You'll find the locked ancient chest with the Deathbrand Boots in it next to a small section of ruins, with two dead treasure hunters.
  • 6 of 10: The SW "X" marks a spot that's a ways north of the Earth Stone.
  • 7 of 10: Go NW from the Earth Stone until you reach the shore, then follow it north until you reach a small grove of trees with a couple of hostile reavers in it. Kill them, then pick the lock on the ancient chest they dug up to find the Deathbrand Armor.
  • 8 of 10: The NW "X" marks a spot that's a bit south of Bristleback Cave.
  • 9 of 10: Go south along the shore from Bristleback Cave until you reach a spot where mudcrabs are gathered near an ancient chest. (There may also be some rieklings nearby.) Pick open the chest to find the Deathbrand Gauntlets.
  • 10 of 10: Whichever ancient chest you loot last will also have a key to the Gyldenhul Barrow in it. Taking it will get you the next objective.
