The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
Defeat Haknir Death-Brand.
1 of 7: If you quickly get up onto one of the two side platforms that are near Haknir's skeleton and crouch down, you may be able to remain undetected at first.
2 of 7: Use that to get in some sneak attacks with a bow, then sprint around the chamber and try to avoid being hit by Haknir's scimitars too often.
3 of 7: After you damage him some, he'll disappear and send in a bunch of "Haknir's crew" ghosts. Fortunately, they're a lot weaker than he is.
4 of 7: Finish all of them off to get Haknir to return, along with two named ghosts who are much tougher than the generic crew ghosts were.
5 of 7: After Haknir is knocked down to about 50% health, he'll pull his "disappear and send in the weak crew ghosts" routine again. After that's over, he'll return alone, and you'll be able to finish him off without him pulling any more tricks.
6 of 7: TIP: If doing the combat that way is too hard, you could jump over the slab that Haknir's skeleton is on so his ghost can't get to you. He'll run off and hide, but if you can summon a powerful creature to attack him, and have a bow to shoot him with while he's fighting it, you should eventually be able to win that way.
7 of 7: The quest will be over when Haknir dies, but don't forget to loot his ghostly remains to get his other unique scimitar. Dual-wielding both of his scimitars will get you two nice attack bonuses.
