The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
Bring Elmus some Ashfire Mead from Thirsk Mead Hall.
1 of 5: This quest can only be done if you haven't progressed on the "The Chief of Thirsk Hall" or "Retaking Thirsk" side quests far enough to get Elmus killed or back in the mead hall.
2 of 5: Find Elmus at Bujold's Retreat and ask him if there's anything that would make being down there more bearable. (Note that if he's off wandering around, it's probably easiest to wait until he returns to the Bujold's camp.)
3 of 5: Travel to the Thirsk Mead Hall to find that it's inhabited by non-hostile rieklings, then go inside and look for some Ashfire mead.
4 of 5: There are five bottles of it on the floor next to some barrels a bit to the left of the riekling chief's throne.
5 of 5: Take at least one bottle, then return to Elmus and hand it over to get a leveled amount of gold.
