The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Confront Harkon with Auriel's Bow.

  • 1 of 10: When you're ready for the final showdown with Lord Harkon and his evil minions, fast-travel to the Castle Harkon location.
  • 2 of 10: TIP: If the sun isn't out when you arrive, wait until it is. You can then use Auriel's Bow and Sunhallowed arrows to rain fire and destruction upon your foes by shooting up at the sun.
  • 3 of 10: Move onto the large curving stone bridge to get some of the gargoyle statues to transform into live gargoyles. Soon after they do, several named vampires will rush to the attack.
  • 4 of 10: Use Auriel's Bow (or whatever) to put them all down, or keep casting beneficial spells like Grand Healing to keep your allies healthy while they do all the fighting.
  • 5 of 10: Enter the Volkihar Keep area and continue the fight in there, using the same tactics as before (except that you can't shoot Auriel's Bow at the sun from inside the keep).
  • 6 of 10: After the keep area seems secured, look all around it for loot and stragglers, then follow the quest arrow to find a large closed gate.
  • 7 of 10: Pull the chain to the right of it to open it, then go through the door to the Volkihar Cathedral area.
  • 8 of 10: Stand and wait while Serana talks to Harkon. After that conversation is over, Harkon will talk to you and ask you to hand over Auriel's Bow.
  • 9 of 10: Even if you do, he'll still attack you, so it's best not to. In either case, you'll get the next objective.
  • 10 of 10: TIP: Instead of waiting for Harkon to talk to you, go around behind him while he's talking to Serana, then crouch down and deliver the most powerful sneak attack that you can (remembering to use your best weapon, best poison, etc.).
