What if I've already turned that person into a vampire?
1 of 4: That can happen on a subsequent doing of this quest. The game isn't careful about checking to make sure that the randomly chosen convertee hasn't already been converted.
2 of 4: If that happens, the quest will be impossible to finish, and you won't be able to get any more randomized side quests unless you use one of two possible solutions.
3 of 4: You could attack and kill the quest target. That'll fail the quest, but at least you can go get another randomized quest.
4 of 4: If you're playing on the PC, you can use the following console code to move the quest along to the point where you can return to Castle Volkihar and report success on it.
