The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Ruunvald Excavation

  • 1 of 8: Sneak forward to the first room and try to sneak-shoot one of the charmed Vigilants. They're all hostile, and will need to be killed.
  • 2 of 8: Find the side passage that's near the bottom of that room, then sneak along it to get into position to sneak-shoot another charmed Vigilant.
  • 3 of 8: Past him is another Vigilant on the right, and a tripwire for an oil trap on the left.
  • 4 of 8: After killing the Vigilant, trip the oil trap and back up quickly. After it stops burning, go down the passage to come to another large room with more Vigilants and their husky dog.
  • 5 of 8: Use the passage in the back of their room to get to another large room, watching out for a Vigilant and a husky in a right-side area as you go.
  • 6 of 8: Kill the Vigilant who's guarding that room, then watch out for multiple pressure plates on the floor as you move on.
  • 7 of 8: The next large room has a bunch of Vigilants and a husky in it, so proceed slowly and take them on one or two at a time whenever you can.
  • 8 of 8: Go down to the room's lowest floor, then look south for a short passage that leads to the entrance to the Ruunvald Temple area.
