The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
Solve the Tonal Lock.
of 13: Looking over the huge wall to the north, you'll see that it has three closed gates and five resonator gadgets in it.
of 13: Perhaps hitting the resonators with ranged attacks will open the gates. Quicksave, then try it and see what happens.
of 13: There's a particular sequence you need to hit the resonators in. If you hit one out of sequence, any progress you made will be lost, and you'll have to start over after killing the dwarven spiders or spheres that are sent after you. If you keep getting the sequence wrong, elevated crossbows will fire explosive bolts at you, and a dwarven centurion will be released from behind the middle gate.
of 13: Check Katria's journal to get a clue on how to start.
of 13: On the last page of the journal is a drawing of the five resonators. Notice that the lower left one is numbered 1, and the lower right one is numbered 2.
of 13: So use a bow, crossbow, or ranged projectile spell (Fireball works best) to shoot the lower left resonator first, then the lower right one.
of 13: You can then quicksave and use guesswork from there, or you can look around for more clues.
of 13: Loot the dead adventurer who's next to a pillar near the rightmost gate to find a scrap of paper.
of 13: Read it to see that it also has a diagram of the five resonators, though it's a lot cruder than Katria's drawing.
of 13: Notice that it has a 2 on the lowest right part of the diagram, and a 3 on the top left.
of 13: That must mean that the upper left resonator is the third one in the sequence, so shoot it next.
of 13: That's the end of the clues, so quicksave and then guess which of the remaining two resonators comes next in the sequence.
of 13: It's the top right one. Shoot it, then shoot the lower middle one to get the next objective.
