The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

New Unique Equipment

  • * Aetherial Crown => While wearing this crown, you can have the blessings from two of Skyrim's standing stones on you at once. Note, though, that you have to be wearing the crown when you get the second blessing, and you have to keep wearing it to retain both blessings. The crown can be created while doing the "Lost to the Ages" side quest.

    * Aetherial Shield => This heavy armor shield will turn enemies ethereal for ten seconds when you bash them with it, rendering them incapable of doing or taking any damage. Note that the shield's description says fifteen seconds, but it's really ten -- at least in the PC version of the game. The shield can be created while doing the "Lost to the Ages" side quest.

    * Aetherial Staff => This is a summoning staff that will conjure either a dwarven spider or a dwarven sphere for 60 seconds. It can be created while doing the "Lost to the Ages" side quest.

    * Amulet of Bats => If you're wearing this amulet when you transform into a vampire lord, using your Bats power will stun or knock over any enemy that's directly ahead of you. Also, if you have the Night Cloak vampire perk, it'll increase the amount of life drained by your "cloak" of bats. It's one of the two amulets you go after on the "Amulets of Night Power" vampire side quest.

    * Amulet of the Gargoyle => If you're wearing this amulet when you transform into a vampire lord, summoning a gargoyle (if you have that vampire perk) will summon a second gargoyle for 30 seconds. It's one of the two amulets you go after on the "Amulets of Night Power" vampire side quest. (Note that this item is enchantable.)

    * Auriel's Bow => This bow does a bonus of 20 points of sun damage, and its damage is tripled if the target is undead. Also, two special types of elven arrows can be used with it to get special effects while outdoors during the day. See the "Touching the Sky" main-line quest and the second objective of the "Kindred Judgment" main-line quest for all the details.

    * Auriel's Shield => This heavy armor shield will store some energy every time it's hit while in block mode. A shield bash will then use that energy to do sun damage to the bashed target. The shield is in the Forgotten Vale, in the possession of a falmer warmonger. See the sixth objective of the "Touching the Sky" main-line quest.

    * Dawnguard Rune Axe => This war axe does sun damage to its target. The more undead you kill with it (up to 10), the more powerful its sun damage gets. It's one of the three artifacts that can be gotten during the "Lost Relic" Dawnguard side quest.

    * Dawnguard Rune Hammer => This warhammer will place a fire rune on a surface if you move up to it and bash it while in block mode. Use it to set traps to lead enemies across. It's one of the three artifacts that can be gotten during the "Lost Relic" Dawnguard side quest.

    * Dawnguard Rune Shield => This light armor shield does the same +10 bash damage to vampires that regular Dawnguard shields do, plus it can be held in block mode to "trade" its user's stamina for a sustained sun damage effect. It's one of the three artifacts that can be gotten during the "Lost Relic" Dawnguard side quest.

    * Harkon's Sword => This one-handed sword will absorb 15 points of health, magicka, and stamina from its target if its user is a vampire. It can be gotten from Harkon's ashes after finishing the "Kindred Judgment" main-line quest. Or if you side with Harkon in the "Bloodline" quest, you may be able to pickpocket it from him.

    * Locket of Saint Jiub => This amulet increases both your carrying capacity and your stamina by 50. It's a reward for the "Impatience of a Saint" side quest.

    * Ring of the Beast => This ring gives you +100 health and +20 damage to your claw attacks. It's one of the two rings you go after on the "Rings of Blood Magic" vampire side quest.

    * Ring of the Erudite => This ring gives you +100 magicka and +2% to your magicka regen rate. It's one of the two rings you go after on the "Rings of Blood Magic" vampire side quest.

    * Staff of Ruunvald => This staff casts a Calm spell that affects people and creatures up to level 8 for 30 seconds. It can be gotten from Minorne on the "Bolstering the Ranks" Dawnguard side quest.

    * Taron Dreth's Robes => These robes make Destruction spells cost 15% less to cast, and make magicka regenerate 75% faster. They can be gotten from Taron Dreth in a random world map encounter after finishing the "Lost to the Ages" side quest.

    * Zephyr => This bow can fire 30% faster than regular bows. It can be gotten while doing the "Lost to the Ages" side quest.
