How can I get this gate open?
1 of 4: Look around the upper-floor area for some sort of interactive item.
2 of 4: There's a pull chain in an upper niche on the south wall, right behind a gargoyle statue.
3 of 4: Pulling that chain will open the gate, but it'll also cause the statue to turn into a live gargoyle. There's also a skeleton archer in the area just past the gate.
4 of 4: NOTE: You could sprint for the gate and pull the chain that's on the wall just past the gate to close it and leave the gargoyle behind, but you'd almost certainly also be leaving Serana behind, which you don't want to do. (You could force her to fight the gargoyle by herself, then open the gate for her after it's dead.)
