How can I buy some land in The Pale Hold to build a house on?
1 of 4: Do tasks for Jarl Skald in Dawnstar's White Hall until you get the dialogue option about buying a house. (This will happen after you kill a giant for him.)
2 of 4: When you inquire about the house, he'll tell you that you can buy a piece of land for 5000 gold.
3 of 4: If you have that much, hand it over to get the Heljarchen Hall Charter, which is your title to the land.
4 of 4: Check the world map to see that there's a new marker for Heljarchen Hall a long ways south of Dawnstar.
