The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
What's the best way to deal with this trap?
1 of 6: There's a lever near the gate on its other side that'll open it briefly, so you aren't actually trapped in the room. However, it's still best to deal with it as if it were a real trap.
2 of 6: Open the gate, run up to it without going past it, and quickly conjure a summoned creature in a spot past the gate.
3 of 6: After the gate closes, wait for your conjured creature to time out or get killed, then open the gate and repeat the process if there are any skeletons left.
4 of 6: Note that trying to fire arrows or spells through the closed gate is useless. If you can't conjure a creature, you might want to leave and come back when you can. (See the Combat Tips.)
5 of 6: After the skeletons are all scragged, a skeletal dragon should rise up. If it doesn't, try opening the gate and using a staff to summon a creature right next to the dragon mound you can see in the center of the huge room.
6 of 6: Treat the dragon the same way you did the skeletons, but note that you'll have to hurry through the gate and deliver the killing blow yourself. Your summoned creature will stop attacking right before the dragon dies. It'll lie there panting for a few seconds, after which it'll regain all of its health if you don't finish it off.
