Assist the people of the Pale.
1 of 5: After finishing the "Kill the giant in [random giant camp]" objective, ask Jarl Skald if there's anything else he needs to get this objective.
2 of 5: The easiest way to get credit for assisting people is to sell ore to the local miners. Specifically, sell some iron ore to Beitild near the Iron-Breaker Mine (if you haven't killed her on a Dark Brotherhood contract quest yet), and sell some quicksilver ore to Leigelf near the Quicksilver Mine. (Note that you can get the ore you need from the mines, but ore that comes from somewhere else will work, too.)
3 of 5: Another way is to find the miner named Karl, either near the Iron-Breaker Mine or in the inn, and give him a drink. That requires you to have a bottle of ale, wine, or mead in your inventory that you're willing to give up.
4 of 5: Yet another way is to chop some firewood at any wood chopping block, then go sell it to Aeri at Anga's Mill (a ways west of Windhelm).
5 of 5: After you've gotten credit for helping three people, this objective will be completed.
