The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints

Helping Ranmir find his lost love.

  • 1 of 8: After finishing the "Talk to Ranmir about Haran" Winterhold miscellaneous quest, ask Dagur at the inn's counter if there's anything around there that needs doing.
  • 2 of 8: Listen to all he says about Ranmir and Isabelle Rolaine, then ask Haran (who may be in the inn's cellar) about Isabelle.
  • 3 of 8: She mentions Vex at the Thieves Guild, so go join it if you haven't already.
  • 4 of 8: After you gain access to the Ragged Flagon area, talk to Vex and ask about Isabelle Rolaine.
  • 5 of 8: She'll direct you to Hob's Fall Cave. See the Dawnstar section of the World Map Exploration Guide if you need help finding it.
  • 6 of 8: Enter the cave and move forward a short way to find Isabelle Rolaine's body next to some rocks and empty wine bottles.
  • 7 of 8: Take the letter from the body, then read it in the "Books" section of your inventory to learn that it was written to Ranmir.
  • 8 of 8: Return to Winterhold's inn and tell Ranmir that you have something for him. He'll take the letter and read it, and that'll be that. (Unfortunately, there's no actual reward.)
