Is there an easier way to get all the cogs I need?
1 of 3: You could go to Markarth and steal ten cogs from the Dwemer Museum that's inside Understone Keep.
2 of 3: If you're very sneaky or have some invisibility potions, you could pick the lock on the museum's door (or pickpocket the key from the nearby guard) and then sneak over to its NE part to find the cogs.
3 of 3: Otherwise, do the "Kill Nimhe inside Nchuand-Zel" Markarth miscellaneous quest to get the museum key. You'll still have to steal the cogs sneakily, but at least the guards won't try to arrest you just for being inside the museum.
