The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Discover Svidi's whereabouts.
of 8: See the first objective of the "Promises to Keep" side quest to learn how to find Sibbi Black-Briar. Ask him why he's in jail, then say that you'll help him find Svidi.
of 8: Ask Sibbi for information on Svidi to learn that she's a young woman with long black hair, and that she can sing really beautifully.
of 8: Due to her singing talent, she may be doing bard work in one of Skyrim's inns to earn money. Go around and check all of them for a woman meeting her description. (And remember that she won't be using her real name.)
of 8: Actually, she's cut and dyed her hair, too. It's best to just talk to every woman in all the inns until you find her.
of 8: The inn you need to visit is the Vilemyr Inn in Ivarstead.
of 8: Talk to Lynly Star-Sung and say that her real name is Svidi, then pass a persuade or intimidate dialogue option. If you can't, then you'll have to come back and try again later when your Speech skill is higher.
of 8: After Svidi tells you the real story, return to Riften and talk to Sibbi Black-Briar in his cell. Tell him you have information about Svidi, then either tell him the truth or lie to protect her.
of 8: Either way, he'll give you a key. To use it, enter the Black-Briar Meadery building and go down to its lowest floor, then look for a long, brown chest near the bottom of the stairs.
