What's an easy way to get some gold ore?
1 of 3: The easiest way is to use the Transmute spell to turn a chunk of iron or silver ore into gold ore. Unfortunately, the Transmute spell isn't particularly easy to get. (See the Special Spell List.)
2 of 3: If you can find a gold ore vein and a pickaxe, you can mine your own gold ore. However, gold mines are very rare in Skyrim, and "loose" gold ore veins are usually hard to get to.
3 of 3: There is a gold mine a ways east of Riften called the Lost Prospect Mine that you might want to try.
