Where all can I buy houses in Skryim?
1 of 4: There are nine cities in Skyrim, five of which have available houses for sale. However, you won't be able to buy them right away.
2 of 4: The cheapest house is in Whiterun. It costs 5000 gold, and it can be purchased soon after starting the fourth Main Quest.
3 of 4: The other four houses you can buy are in Riften (8000 gold), Markarth (8000 gold), Windhelm (12,000 gold), and Solitude (25,000 gold).
4 of 4: Before you can buy them, you'll have to work on the Miscellaneous Quests that have to do with becoming Thane in their regions. Check the bottom of the Riften miscellaneous quest list to see how to become Thane of the Rift, check the bottom of the Windhelm miscellaneous quest list to see how to become Thane of Eastmarch, etc.
