Exactly how does each rotating pillar need to be set?
1 of 3: The pillar that's directly west of the pedestal needs to have its whale carving facing the pedestal.
2 of 3: The pillar that's closest to the pedestal needs to have its hawk carving facing south. (That's not exactly facing the pedestal, but it's close enough.)
3 of 3: The pillar that's east of the pedestal needs to have its snake carving facing the pedestal.
