Plant Madesi's Ring.
1 of 3: Find the dark elf named Brand-Shei in the crowd around Brynjolf's stall, then crouch down next to him.
2 of 3: Whether you're hidden or not, quicksave, then activate Brand-Shei to bring up the pickpocketing screen.
3 of 3: Go to the apparel section of your inventory, then click on Madesi's Silver Ring to attempt to sneak it into Brand-Shei's inventory. If you're detected, quickrestore and try again until you succeed and get the next objective.
