The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Give the Lexicon to Septimus.
1 of 7: Go down one of the curving ramps to get onto the top of the large round device, then go over and take the Elder Scroll from the open container.
2 of 7: Turn around and go through the nearby doorway, then open some doors to find a lift that'll take you up to the Tower of Mzark location on the surface.
3 of 7: Use the lever on the wall to open a gate, then return to Septimus' outpost.
4 of 7: WARNING: Be sure you're level 15 or higher before you return to Septimus' outpost and talk to him. If you're not, a glitch may cause the quest to permanently stall.
5 of 7: Go inside and talk to Septimus to hand over the lexicon and finish the objective. If you're level 15 or higher, he'll immediately give you the next five objectives.
6 of 7: NOTE: On the way out of the outpost, your way will be blocked by a "wretched abyss." Activate it to talk to Hermaeus Mora.
7 of 7: NOTE: Each of the five blood-harvesting objectives requires you to harvest blood from the dead body of anyone who's of a certain race. See each objective's hints for tips on finding people of that race to kill in areas other than towns and settlements, where you'd get in trouble for assault.
