The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints
Obtain a Flawless Ruby.
1 of 4: These are going to be fairly hard to locate, especially if your character is low-level. Higher-level characters will find them more often in random treasure and merchant inventories.
2 of 4: There are a few places you can go to find non-random flawless rubies. The easiest one to get to is probably an abandoned rowboat.
3 of 4: Go to Reachwater Rock (see the Markarth section of the World Map Exploration Guide), then go down the path to the stone bridge.
4 of 4: Get in the water and go NW until you find the rowboat, then look inside it for the flawless ruby plus several other gems.
