The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hints

Destruction

  • 1 of 4: The safest and easiest way to practice this skill is to use the two big skill-practicing opportunities in the first main quest. Keep hitting Hadvar or Ralof (whomever you're with) with the Flames spell.
  • 2 of 4: Later on, the safest way to practice is to use a Conjuration spell to summon a weak bound creature, then blast it with the Flames spell.
  • 3 of 4: Just remember that it'll turn hostile after a short time, and you'll need to kill it or cast another creature-summoning spell before it kills you (or run around and dodge it until it vanishes). Also remember that Destruction is one of the slowest magic skills to practice up.
  • 4 of 4: The Flames spell won't get you much practice credit once your skill reaches 40 or so, at which time you'll need to start using higher-level Destruction spells. The rune spells and Fireball are fairly good once you get them.
