1 of 8: As soon as you get this objective, several guards will enter the tower and start searching the place.
2 of 8: If you have another Invisibility potion, use it after recasting the Muffle spell, then drop down and make your way around the guards and to the exit door.
3 of 8: NOTE: If you cast a magic rune on the floor before making the rubbing, any surviving guards will probably start running around to your position using the stairs. Wait until they're out of sight, then drop down and run for the exit door without bothering to use an Invisibility potion.
4 of 8: Once outside, go down the steps, then turn right to find a narrow stone pathway that you can take to reach a deadly drop-off near a giant waterfall.
5 of 8: Quicksave in case something goes wrong, then jump directly into the waterfall, *not* over to where the quest marker is.
6 of 8: After you drop safely down into the water at the base of the waterfall, the game will let you fast-travel, so take advantage of that to return to Winterhold.
7 of 8: Enter the inn, then go down the stairs behind the counter and enter the cellar.
8 of 8: Talk to Enthir about translating Gallus' journal, then wait to get the next objective.
